Read more…Drugs addiction was a big problem that developed between different populations around the world. Our work aimed to illustrate the effect of pregabalin addiction on some biochemical parameters of the wistar male rats. In this study, we used 14 adult healthy rats that allocated into two groups (n = 7) as control and treated that orally administrated with pregabalin (23.7 mg/kg) for 30 subsequent days. Biochemical parameters, redox state, comet assay and histopathological investigation were carried out. Our results indicated that pregabalin addiction had an adverse effect on the physiological state of male rats through increased liver and kidney function parameters, elevated reactive oxygen species, exceed level of DNA damage and altered histology of vital main tissues. By this study we shed light on the harm effect of pregabalin addiction. |
