To understand the mechanical energy patterning of specialized low-pressure homogenization-based pasteurization (LHBP) system for stable Makgeolli colloids, the main flows of thermal mechanism were investigated based on the well-known concepts of heat transfer. Specifically, the conserved level of overall heat transfer coefficient (approximately 170.5 W/m2∙K) was observed based on both heat conduction and forced convection. Unexceptionally, based on the equilibrated stage of actual fixed LHBP platform, the dose of this limited turbulent convection was the strongest part of the overall heat transfers. In order words, the effect of unsteady state-based heat transfer resistance was insignificant based on the overall energy level of LHBP cascades. Furthermore, in a view of heating effectiveness of energetically stabilized (or equilibrated) LHBP mechanism, the use of correction coefficient at least ignorable as below 1% for the total convergence of heat transfer.

Ischemic hepatitis (IH) is a rare phenomenon that is often challenging to recognize in an emergency setting. Ischemic hepatitis is also known as hypoxic hepatitis or “Shock Liver.” It is characterized by rapidly increasing serum aminotransferase levels along with histological changes at the hepatocyte level. IH can be caused by cardiac, circulatory or respiratory failure. IH is a diagnosis of exclusion, which implies ruling out of all the possible causes of elevated transaminases. In this article we report the first case of IH as a complication of sustained-release Verapamil therapy in an elderly patient. This is even more unusual since Verapamil has been proven experimentally to have dose-dependent protective effects on hepatocytes.

There are plenty of practical cases in which we have to study systems or assemblies composed of several independent and different elements. In this paper we focus our attention on the statistical research and for this aim we design a special discreet time Markov chain for the systems with more distinct and parallel linked elements in case when exists the probability to fix them periodically at the end of a certain work time period. Also, we strengthen our results proving that the probabilities crossing matrix, associated with our Markov chain, fulfills the necessary conditions to be a stochastic matrix.

Halo blight is an important disease of common bean. Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola is agent the disease. P.phaseolicola is a seedborne bacterium. The objective was to determine the resistance of new bean varieties/lines to Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola under greenhouse conditions. The fourteen new bean varieties/lines used in this study. Common bean varieties/lines shown a differential reaction when inoculated with Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola. Among the bean bean varieties /lines tested, TB156 and TB117 had the highest level of leaf resistant.

The well-type NaI(Tl) scintillation detectors are useful for the identification and quantification of unknown gamma-ray emitting radionuclides in geological and environmental samples due to the near 4? solid angle that can be obtained with them. In addition, the 4? gamma ray-counting is a well-established method for direct activity measurements, and is especially suited for low level gamma activity measurements. The efficiency was estimated by considering two correction factors: coincidence-summing and self-absorption corrections. The coincidence-summing correction for a cascade transition nuclide was estimated by an experimental method involving measuring a sample at the far and close positions of a detector. Also, the attenuation of photons by the source container and the detector housing materials is also treated by calculating the photon path length through these materials. The agreement between the experimental (present work) and the published theoretical values is good the high discrepancies being less than 1%.

The calibration of hyper pure germanium semiconductor detectors is required to calculate the activity of radioactive sources. To determine the activity, the detector full-energy peak (photopeak) efficiency is required. The full–energy peak efficiency of HPGe semiconductor detector for an isotropic radiating spherical source is obtained experimentally. We compared the measured efficiency values with theoretical calculations. In addition, the source self-absorption and its effect on the full–energy peak efficiency has been studied. By comparison, the theoretical and experimental full-energy peak efficiency values are in good agreement, the difference percentage between the measured efficiency values and the calculated ones is less than 4%.

Background: The Passing-Bablok (PB)-regression is commonly used to prove methods’ equality when studying quantitative laboratory data. If one method is regressed onto the other, the respective confidence intervals of the intercept and the slope must include 0 and 1, respectively, to have a proof of methods equality. This conclusion is problematic in respect of an essential principle of statistical hypothesis testing. \nMethod: The general idea behind the PB-regression is discussed critically. Although the method uses confidence intervals a decision is made, which is why it is important to discuss how the results of a statistical hypothesis test have to be interpreted. Alternative statistical approaches to investigate agreement in biometrical practice are pointed out by means of a practical example and their advantages and limitations are addressed. \nResults: All approaches applied to a sample data led to the same conclusions. Demonstrating methods equality though necessitates an a-priori definition of an appropriate equivalence margin.\nConclusions: The PB-regression may give useful advice when comparing two measurement methods towards equality. However, its results are statistically inconclusive, since the PB-method does not follow the principle of equivalence testing. Alternative measures of agreement should be applied instead to ensure results which are not attackable and serve as a statistical proof.

To identify the fluidic index of Makgeolli colloids transformed by advanced low-pressure homogenization-based pasteurization (LHBP) format, the rheological patterning of mainstream flow was systematically investigated based on well-known factors of flow mechanics. Specifically, the open flows (by Reynold’s prediction) of LHBP-preheating and LHBP-mainstreaming section were specialized as laminar (approximately below 400) and turbulent (approximately below 3,100) flow, respectively. In particular, based on the presence of Ludwig Prandtl’s laminar boundary layers in LHBP-Makgeolli circumstance, the regular nonvertical patterns either transition length or potential flow were also predicted. Furthermore, to design a map of colloidal flow in pipe, the conserved confirmations (especially by both Hagen-Poiseuille’s and Fanning’s idea) of friction loss and pressure drop were complementarily determined based on two different sections for inducing fluidic change. Lastly, in a view of well-organized overall mass balance (especially based on mass flux) of LHBP, it would help to have more LHBP-based applications in positions of leadership in the industrial scene.

This paper proposes a design of the Indoor Positioning based on Filter and Fuzzy (IPFF) more suitable for Pedestrians’ safety by using the sensors embedded in Smartphones. The IPFF consists of a WiFi Fingerprinting Module(WFM), a Gaits Detection Module(GDM), a Direction Detection Module(DDM), and a Fuzzy based Positioning Prediction Module(FPPM). The WFM traces a pedstrian’s indoor position by using WiFi Received Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI). The GDM computes a pedestrian’s moving speed with the sensor data of a Smartphone’s accelerometer and compensates for the speed error with its Filter. The DDM measures a moving direction with the orientation sensor data of a Smartphone. The FPPM predicts a pedestrian’s position by considering his moving speed and direction. The simulation of IPFF shows that it is more accurate than a commercial App in the number of moving gaits and traces a pedestrian’s position in real time more accurately by using Kalman Filtering and Fuzzy Logic.

The objective of this study is to assess the consumption of fruit and vegetable among patients and healthy people according to the physical activity level to determine the calorie needs to help in determine the servings size of fruit and vegetable to every Participants, and to examine some factors that affecting on fruit consumption in patient and healthy individuals. A Cross sectional quantitative study carried among 200 people (100 from healthy and 100 from patients selected from general sectors in Makkah) based on face to face questionnaire composed of: demographic- socio – economic data, health status and food frequency questionnaire used to assess fruit and vegetable consumption and the availability and prices of vegetables and fruits in market. Regarding BMI classification and education levels as factors which may affect fruit consumption highly significant correlations were found among patient and healthy groups (P=-0.017 and P= 0.013 respectively).On the other hand when taking availability of fruit as a factor both groups are found significantly correlated (P=0.042). Findings suggest that the relation between consumption of low density from fruits and vegetables and management of weight and health status. In addition to a higher education level (graduated 49%) has healthier food habits than low education level, and intake of fruits and vegetables is a major factor in the prevention of chronic diseases.

In this paper, we will show that the orbit of a finitely generated R-module M can be\nexpressed as the genus of M/K, where K is the kernel of a certain homomorphism.\nVarious homomorphisms will be constructed between orbit groups.\nIn order to make some computations, we are going to define an equivalence relation\non the group of units of S^?1 R and establish an isomorphism between the obtained\nquotient set and the orbit of M .\nIn the light of the result of this paper and following the one by Roger and Sylvia\nWiegand in 1987, the genus of a finitely generated torsion-free R-module can be\ndescribed as the orbit of M under a suitable group action.

The aim of this study was to investigate the myths and misconceptions about global Pandemic HIV/AIDS, among university students at an Adventist institution in Arusha, Tanzania. This was undertaken with the objective of developing relevant strategies that counteract and dispel such misinformation, as a way and means of controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS transmission. Descriptive statistics in the form of frequency and percentage were used as method of data analysis. The sample comprised 97 male and female participants who were administered an HIV/AIDS questionnaire consisting of 15 statements/questions. Based on the findings of the present investigation, it was rather clear, though to a limited extent, that myths and misconceptions are in competition with how much participants know about HIV/AIDS, as a means of reduction of the spread of HIV/AIDS infection. Hence the rationale for advocating the alternate, or dual mode, or approach of understanding how to combat the scourge of the HIV/AIDS global pandemic.

A number of individual identified biochemical properties of various polluted water has been estimated at several hundred to over a thousand. Most of them affect portable water quality supply in some communities. The need to find and establish evidence associated with patient specific health effect and environmental interaction in disease, mediated by exposure to environmental contaminants in diverse water ways, for assessment of human health risk, is important. This research was design to investigate the biochemical properties of ground water supply in Eket community of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Twelve boreholes were sampled for analysis. Different physico-chemical properties were determine. They include: BOD5, DO, turbidity, pH, odour, colour, temperature and conductivity. This was done following the EPA (2005) and APHA, (1995) methods. The result obtained revealed that temperature ranged from 23.10±30oC to 27.02±10oC, conductivity ranged from 90±0.3 μS/cm to 221±0.1μS/cm; 6.83±0.1 to 4.98±0.4; Turbidity, rang from 2.35±0.10 NTU to 1.00±0.20 NTU respectively. Meanwhile, the result of the DO and BOD5 are within specification. These analyzed properties falls within the WHO recommended criteria for portable water quality. It is suggested that although there are slight variation in values across the samples, ground water in Eket area is considerably safe for consumption and industrial application.
