Our mainly fieldwork research is aiming to discover on location and to gather data about the field houses from a mountain area, Rodna, located in the north of the Romanian Eastern Carpathians, as we also try to collect information able to show their utility for and their impact on local pastoral agriculture. The difficulties encountered during the preliminary research stage were due to the lack of recordings for this type of seasonal habitats at the institutions of local public administration (town halls), on the one hand (as censuses included only permanent households), but also due to a morpho-topographically rough geographic environment, flecked with forest groups, orchards, and numerous fences delimiting the estates. Through special field investigations during the summers of 2013 through 2017, and using a series of questionnaires (2016) by means of which we recorded the real, updated situation of these seasonal households and their economic efficiency, we gathered precious data that, once analysed and interpreted, allowed us to finalise an interesting and useful study.

The present study deals with copper toxicity and the ameliorating effect of Spirulina platensis as food supplement in diet of Nile tilapia; Oreochromis niloticus. The conducted acute copper toxicity test showed that the 96hr LC50 of Cu is 3.12 mg/l, thus fish of the experimental groups were exposed to 10% of that dose (0.312 mg/l) as a sublethal chronic dose for 30 days. Fish were divided into four groups: a control (group 1), group 2 fed on conventional diet supplemented with 10% S. platensis, group 3 fed on conventional diet and exposed to 10% of the 96hr LC50 and group 4 fed on 10% S. platensis supplemented diet and exposed to the same sublethal Cu concentration. Cu concentrations in tissues (liver, gills and muscle), plasma indicative biomarkers of metabolic functions and histological characters were investigated. The studied tissues showed significant increase in Cu concentrations in fish of group 3 associated with biochemical and histopathological alterations in comparison to other experimental groups. Results indicated that S. platensis supplemented diet improved the studied plasma biochemical parameters as well as tissue integrity and it showed a better effect on internal metabolic active tissues such as the liver and, to a lesser extent, the gills. Therefore, it could be concluded that S. platensis supplemented diet administration could minimize Cu toxic effects by its free radical scavenging properties and its chelating effect on copper ions.

Background and Objectives: Most recent developments in nanotechnology have permitted improvement of original uses of nanofluids in car motor cooling. The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of using TiO2-water nanofluid as a coolant fluid in a car engine radiator. In order to determine the effect of TiO2-water nanofluid on car radiator performance, experiments have been done with pure water and TiO2-water nanofluid separately and results have been compared with each other. Materials and Methods: In this study, heat transfer phenomenon of a coolant nanofluid by using TiO2-water nanofluid for car engine system (Model: FIAT DOBLO 1.3 MJTD ENG) was experimentally investigated. The main objective is to check the heat transfer aspects of the TiO2-water nanofluid as a substitution to the customary coolant. For this purpose, experiments have been carried out by using a nanofluid with 0.02 nanoparticles fraction by volume with flow rates of 0.097 and 0.68 m3/ h and Reynolds number ranged from 400 to 3500. The inlet temperature range were 79 °C to 84 °C. Findings: Result show that the friction factor decreases when Reynolds number volumes and the volume concentration are increased. Moreover, TiO2-water nanofluid with 2% concentration can enhance the car radiator effectiveness to 10% when compared with pure water as a coolant. Conclusion: Based on above results, TiO2-water nanofluid a better overall performance. Average heat transfer coefficient TiO2-water nanofluid is higher when compared with pure water. Finally, average heat transfer coefficient is directly affected by increase in Reynolds number and volume concentration fraction of the nanofluid.

ract The purpose of this study was assessing gender differences in critical\nlogical thinking among university students in Nairobi, Kenya. Sismply stated\nwould there be a difference between the way women reason as compared to\ntheir counterpart at university level? Participants in this study were randomly\ndrawn from two undergraduate classes of second and third year students in the\nCollege of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Nairobi. The sample\nsize comprised 139 females and 77 males, making a total of 216 university\nstudents. A Group Assessment Logical Thinking Test consisting of ten multiple\nquestions was administered to the sample. A chi-square contingency table was\nemployed to determine, whether the means of the gender difference of\nrespondents were statistically significant. The results revealed that, the\ndifference was statistically significant, in favour of female respondents who\noutperformed male respondents in the mastery of critical logical thinking:\n?2(1df, N216=185.72, p< 0.001. This is a welcome finding since the majority of\nreviewed studies indicated a trend in which males often times outperformed\nfemales, or showed no differences in critical logical thinking. Findings which\nindicate that males consistently perform better than females in critical logical\nthinking may create an impression of male superiority in logical thinking skills.

According to the development of 4G mobile wireless standards and the need of supply the best services to the lowest possible cost, operators wish to know how to upgrade existing networks and how to design new ones. This subject has become hot in the industry. In this paper, we present a literature review on the topological planning problem of LTE Advanced-based Heterogeneous mobile Networks. We presented the architecture of mobile networks after describing the need for heterogeneous networks. To justify the necessity of components we will use in the planning process a comparison made between these components. We concentrate on the problems of planning base stations layout. For these networks to reach their potential we introduced in this paper, an overview of some parameters challenges and constraints that operators must tackle so, from this point; more researches on the topological design of Dense Areas Heterogeneous mobile Networks can be started.

Accurate control of a nonlinear system in the presence of uncertainty and disturbance is a critical task. Fuzzy logic control (FLC) can be viewed as an approach combining conventional precise mathematical control and humanlike decision making, which is one of the widely used in the control applications. An improved control scheme named single-input fuzzy sliding mode control (SFSMC) is proposed for a class of fourth order nonlinear systems subjected to uncertainty and disturbance. The improved SFSMC is proven to be stable and is simple to use comparing with the existing signed distance method. Finally, the proposed control scheme with the novel s-method is applied to a ball and beam system, and simulation results show that substantial improvement in the dynamic performance is achieved compared with the prior work.
