Lipid oxidation is one of the major factors limiting the quality of meat and meat products. The susceptibility of the poultry meat to oxidative deterioration increases due to the fact that poultry meat contains too much polyunsaturated fatty acids. For this reason, oxidative deterioration of products obtained from poultry meat is the most important factor determining the quality. In this study, the oxidative deterioration levels of sausage and 20 chicken doner produced from 40 poultry meat served in Bilecik market were determined using Thiobarbituric Acid (TBA) test. It was determined that the TBA level of the sausage samples changed between 0.070-3.221 μgMA/g and the mean TBA number was 0.756±0.684 μgMA/g, while the TBA level of the chicken doner samples varied between 0.086-2.480 μgMA/g and the mean TBA number was found as 0.624±0.566 μgMA/g. According to the obtained results, it was determined that 27.50% of the sausage samples and 10.00% of the chicken samples were above the lipid oxidation level determined by the Turkish Standards Institute.

This paper presents unsupervised approach for opinion mining from hospital reviews in Arabic. We considered the opinion mining in two main phases: detection of the aspect and determination of polarity. We used a syntax-based method for aspect detection and proposed a way to improve it with Pointwise Mutual Information in bootstrapping algorithm. We then used lexicon-based approach for polarity analysis. To evaluate our approach, we compiled hospital reviews from several Jordanian Hospitals and manually annotated them by volunteers, considering both aspect category and polarity classification. Experimental results showed that our approach outperforms similar techniques already exist in the literature. Furthermore, since our approach does not depend on any labeled data it can be easily ported to any other domain.

This study was conducted to reveal medicinal effect of Fomes fomentarius extract(FFE) for induced dementia-rat model. FFE was induced by injecting scoplamine in Spraque-Dawley rats\' abdominal. Control group and experimental group were categorized as follows; Group Ⅰ: Control group, saline oral administration (n=10), Group Ⅱ: Vehicle, AD(Alzheimer disease)induced stimulation, saline oral administration (n=10), Group Ⅲ: Pre-high, AD induced stimulation, Fomes fomentarius extract (FFE) (before 3 weeks) oral administration concentration(200 mg/kg rat weight) (n=10), Group Ⅳ: Pre-low, AD induced stimulation, FFE (before 3 weeks) oral administration concentration (50 mg/kg rat weight) (n=10), Group Ⅴ: Post-high, AD induced stimulation, FFE oral administration concentration (200 mg/kg rat weight) (n=10), Group Ⅵ: Post-low, AD induced stimulation, FFE oral administration concentration (50 mg/kg rat weight) (n=10), Group Ⅶ: Positive control, AD induced stimulation, Donepezil Post oral administration concentration (1 mg/kg rat weight) (n=10) In order to evaluate the efficacy of the FFE , behavior test, TCD test, SEP test, PET-CT were measured. This research result shows that feeding orally FF extract may be a new drug candidate for the treatment of memory loss

Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang (BCT) is known the treatment of hypertension ischemic injury by Dampness and Phlegm in Asia. The efficacy of anti-inflammation on BCT was evaluated by LPS-induced Raw 264.7 cell line and MDI-differentiated 3T3-L1 cell line. We measured the PGE2, NO, IL-6 and TNF-α using ELISA in LPS-induced Raw 264.7 cell. We detected the concentration of TG in lysates, leptin and klotho in supernatant by EILSA and fat droplet using Oil Red O staining in MDI-differentiated 3T3-L1 cell. And we used microarray to detect of gene expression. As a result, BCT suppressed the PGE2 (92%), NO (35%) and IL-6 (69%) releasing respectively. Leptin, TG and klotho contents were reduced by approximately 79%, 73% and 72%, respectively, especially when the MDI-induced 3T3-L1 cell were suppressed using 200 µg/mL BCT. In microarray, we detected 250 differentially expressed genes in the experimental group. In 250 detected genes, we selected the 154 genes which recovery to control group. The gene expression related with lipid metabolism detected PPAR-γ signaling pathway and validated genes; FABP, PPAR-γ and CEBP-α. Our findings suggest that the anti-inflammatory efficacy of BCT is mediated through regulation of adipogenesis-related adipokines.

The ciliary ganglion is a well-defined ovate ganglionic mass in the two species studied Chalcides chalcides and Tropiocolotes tripolitanus.In both Chalcides and Tropiocolotes the neurons of the ganglion are oftwo sizes; large and small cells. In the two species studied, the ciliary ganglion has parasympathetic (motor) and sensory roots. The parasympathetic root is represented by the radix ciliaris brevis in Chalcideswhile it is lacking in Tropiocolotes. The sensory root; the radix ciliaris longa connects the ramus nasalis of the nervus trigeminus with the ciliary ganglion in Tropiocolotes and withthe ciliary nerve in Chalcides. The ciliary ganglion gives off two ciliary nerves in Chalcideswhereas, it gives rise to one nerve in Tropiocolotes.

With the dynamism of the global market and the search for a conducive control environment so as to nurture information disseminated to stakeholders, companies are reinventing the creation of the compliance role in order to safeguard assets. Knowing this, the present study aims to investigate the difficulties of the role of compliance taking the current concept and context and also, analyses the obstacles faced during implementation of this program within companies in the technology sector. Based on our studies, we conclude that the main deadlocks to implementing compliance function are communication, timing and training of employees, in addition to engaging senior management in companies and protocols for process improvement. As a result of aforementioned, it is worthwhile highlighting that companies deal with major challenges and powers within organisations with due care by holding to the governance weight which politically is quintessential to ensure implementation of the compliance role.

Urban green space is part of the urban planning process which plays a significant role in socio-economic development. But, in Enugu urban, Nigeria, most city green spaces have been discarded. This study examined the impact of doing away with open spaces on the socio-economic development of Enugu urban in Nigeria. Field survey with likert-scaled structured questionnaire reached randomly selected 400 residents out of 722,664 population of the city. Two hypotheses that guided the study were tested with Pearson’s Chi-Square Cross Tabulation Statistics using SPSS E-Views 7.0. Results showed, among others, that significant relationship existed between city open space and the conversion impact on the socio-economic development of Enugu urban. It was recommended, among others, that there should be proper planning and adherence to it for efficient use of open spaces in Nigerian cities as well as a more precise approach to urban development.

River sources of drinking water have come under intense pollution and degradation in developing countries, including Nigeria, due to widespread poverty, ignorance, overcrowding, recklessness, poor urban management, uncontrolled urbanization, and rapid industrialization, often leading to disease epidemics and mass deaths. The study investigated the pollution effects of heavy metals in river sources of drinking water in Enugu metropolis, Nigeria. Structured questionnaire was administered on 400 residents. Water samples from four (4) prominent rivers that form the major sources of drinking water in the metropolis were subjected to Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) to establish the concentration level of each of the heavy metal pollutants identified from literature. Three hypotheses were tested using One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Principal Components Analysis (PCA) with Varimos Rotation on Factor Analysis. Findings showed that heavy metals occur in the drinking water from river sources in the Enugu metropolis at levels that adversely affect the health of consumers. Relevant government agencies needed to rise up to the challenge of water and environmental protection, and waste management in Enugu metropolis as well as public awareness raising campaigns.

The Nigerian textile industry is in bad shape. From the position of the second largest in Africa with over 250 vibrant factories operating above 50 percent capacity utilization, the Nigerian textile industry has mostly closed shop. Of the over 175 operational textile factories in the 1980s, only about 25 are still producing. This review has identified the challenges that have orchestrated the ugly situation, with a view to proferring solutions. Recommendations were itemised in eleven practical measures for government consideration and reflection to ameliorate the situation and encourage revival.

The measurements of blood pressure techniques are based on measuring the pressure of the cuff and on sensing the variation of the amplitude of pulsatile. Patient movement is sensitively effected by these measurements. The movements that are slightest unexpected could offset the readings of the automatic blood pressure meter by a large amount or render the readings totally meaningless. In this paper, windkessel models (two, three and four) were applied to generate blood pressure measurement. Blood pressure measurement for healthy person varies in the range 80mmHg/120mmHg. Windkessel models are mainly used to describe the load faced by the heart in pumping blood through the pulmonary or systemic arterial system, and the relation between blood pressure and blood flow in the aorta or the pulmonary artery. Characterizing the pulmonary or systemic arterial load on the heart in terms of the parameters that arise in windkessel models, such as arterial compliance and peripheral resistance. Fast artificial neural network is a tool for pattern classification computational that have been the matter of research that is renewed. Fast artificial neural network uses several learning algorithms and formats are being used in medical applications, industrial, and academic research. Fast artificial neural network were also used in previous studies to estimate blood pressure. In this paper, fast artificial neural network designs have been used for determining mean square error and standard deviation error for blood pressure measurement between inputs and outputs using back propagation training algorithm and self-organizing map training algorithm, where the input values in the neural network are the values estimated from windkessel models (two, three and four). The result showed that fast artificial neural network was more accurate method. However a huge database is required for this method. Both under training and over training will affect the measurement accuracy.

The Nigerian textile industry has mostly closed shop. Has this become the lot of handloom fabrics cottage industry in Edem-Ani community where most families had once engaged in handloom fabrics production? This study was aimed at investigting the state of handloom fabrics cottage industry in Edem-Ani, Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State, Southeast, Nigeria. Questionnaire was used to elicit information from 50 purposively selected respondents from 7 of 14 villages of Edem-Ani. Simple statistical analysis was adopted for the data. Findings showed that a majority of Edem-Ani people have abandoned handloom fabrics cottage industry for trading, farming and other occupations. Factors responsible for this development were identified and suggestions were made on how to revive the industry.

The following investigation includes a study on the variability that a measurement system provides. By applying tools such as, Gage R&R (Reproducibility and Repeatability) and combined uncertainty analysis, the variation factors were quantified and control actions needed to minimize them were identified. The object of study of this research was the Travel and Effort tester that is to be used for the validation of an automotive latch device, where these features are the key points to identify a product within specification or out of specification. Finally, some adjustment and improvement proposals are made in the Travel and Effort machine according to the uncertainty factors identified, with the intention of stabilizing the measurement system before being used in the validation process.

In the “information-economy”, ICT facilities are increasingly demanded, leading to generation of mountainous e-scraps in parts of various cities in Nigeria. Lead, beryllium oxide and other toxic chemical components are contained in virtually all e-scraps in trace, small and significant quantities and are hazardous, leading to health and environmental hazards from air pollution arising from their emission from e-scraps. This study investigated how lead and beryllium oxide from e-scraps can be recycled in order to reduce pollution arising from their emission from e-scraps. Results showed that lead can be recycled mechanically or by chemical reactions (acid precipitation and solvent extraction), while beryllium oxide can be recyled through chemical reaction. Recommendations include enlightenment of Nigerians on environmental pollution health effects of toxic emissions from lead and beryllium oxide contained in e-scraps; encouraging them to discard out-of-use e-scraps from handbags, homes, offices, sales shops, repair workshops and city landscapes; waste management authorities to retool and adopt modern methods of e-scraps disposal; and encouragement of chemists to employ a combination of mechanical and chemical reaction means to extract and recycle lead and beryllium oxide from e-scraps.
