In the year 1756, at sixty years of age, of the 84 years that he lived, Voltaire wrote two small dialogues in which he interacts with Lucrecio and Posidonio (Voltaire, 1891). In these two papers, he deals with things that are always current and whose answers have also remained for several centuries. In what follows, we will try to show the presence of these problems for many years. The dialogues between Lucretius and Posidonius deal with two questions, the first addresses the problem of the existence of a supreme being and the second deals with the attributes of the soul. Previously, in Book X of the Laws of Plato, the problem of the origin of life is presented in a manner very similar that presented by the French philosopher; finally, the two topics discussed in these dialogues are closely related to the problem of the origin of life; this problem is the center that we will try to explore in what follows. We describe the direction in which molecular biology treats the problem of life, particularly by pointing out the results of Creig Venter\'s group experiments in 2010 on the creation of a bacterium. Let\'s see how the arguments continue in the same order.

Purpose: To asses the effect of alpha blocker (alfuzosin) in patients with first time painful acute urinary retention secondary to BPO and determine the predictors of failed TWOC.\nMaterial and method: Men above the age of 50 years presenting with a first episode of spontaneous AUR related to BPE underwent emergency catheterization and were assigned to receive 10 mg alfuzosin once daily for 3 days. The primary end point was recatherization after 72 hours of TWOC were assessed. The influence of factors such as age, residual volume, interval between retention and catheterization, functional class and duration of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) with their grouped frequencies were assessed.\nResults: Total of 104 patients were registered however 4 were excluded giving a total study population of 100. Mean age of the patients was 65.1 +/- 9.5 years. Majority were good functional class I, TWOC was successful in 53% of patients. Correlation between duration of symptoms was inversely proportional to TWOC success (p-value= 0.012). No positive correlation was seen in TWOC vs age, interval between retention and catheterization, residual volume and functional class of the patients. \nCONCLUSIONS: More than half (53%) of the patients receiving single dose of 10mg Alfuzosin had a successful TWOC. Duration of LUTS was significantly inversely proportional to the success of TWOC.

The exohedral fullerene C50 Cl10 provides slightly charged in C50 Cl10 to that C50 and C50 Cl10 is an insulator. Furthermore, the fan of ten chlorine atoms stabilise the C50 and HOMO – LUMO energy gap of C50 ≈ C60. The transport is dominated by the LUMO resonances. The methods used in this work are based on density functional theory (DFT), combined with quantum transport calculations using Greens functions. The conductances of C60 or C50Cl10 dimers and trimers are predicted to be significantly higher than those of bare C50. The exohedral fullerenes are provide a new class of electronic materials with desirable properties.

Today more than 500 ageing theories and hypothesis based on the actual evidence about the development of this multifactorial and multifocal biological process, manifold of which itself is indicative of a lack of actual knowledge in this field are known. The majority of the existent ageing hypothesis and theories are systematized in the monographs and reviews of the different authors [1]. Although, currently neither of them give comprehensive definition for ageing phenomenon, nevertheless characteristics of this phenomenon comes down to the fact that ageing is a process of life activity weakening, reduction of its adaptive possibilities as well as increase in sensitivity to adverse effect which inevitably evolving in time and naturally proceeded. Representing linking between DNA molecules, between protein molecules as well as between DNA and protein molecules, according to authors’ hypothesis [4] which are forming in the natural conditions, involving different metabolites, permanently present in the cells, and are the trigger which predetermines cell ageing, mediated by the inevitable accumulation of DNA damages with ageing.\nThus, ageing theory in conjunction with intensity of free radicals occurrence suggesting that appropriate coverage of antioxidation protective system components in the cells can maintain functional condition of the DNA molecule and stability of transferring of the established in phylogenesis hereditary information by regulation of the rate and direction of redox processes. Thereby, it is the determinant factor of physiological ageing inhibition. It should be noted that these conclusions are embodied in the adaptive and regulatory theory which fundamental position involves relationship between mechanisms of metabolic control and function.

The radiation-induced instability of the genome in tobacco plants Nicotiana tabacum L. has been studied. An increase in the number of chromosomal aberrations in plants of generations M1 and M2 has been shown. The level of chromosomal aberrations depended on the dose of irradiation and the method of pollination of plants and there was carried out research antiradiation activity of an extract of sophora – Sоphora japonica L. at sharp gamma irradiation of seeds of tobacco and wheat. Preliminary processing of seeds with these preparations resulted in stabilization of the maintenance of pigments of chlorophylls and carotinoids at sprouts of wheat and to decrease in number of chromosomal aberrations in apical meristem of sprouts of tobacco – Nicotiаna tabacum L., obtained from the irradiated seeds. \nThus, by testing the root meristem of tobacco in the yield parameter XA, we showed that pre-treatment of seeds with Sophora extract resulted in a significant decrease in the yield of XA in gamma irradiation, which indicates the presence of radioprotective and antimutagenic properties in this preparation.
