In article the results of phytocenological researches conducted at saltwort deserts of Shirvan steppe of Azerbaijan are given. In research work information about most distributed formations in research area such as Halostachyseta belangerianae, Salsoleta nodulosae, Salsoleta dendroideae, Suaedeta microphyllaea, Climacoptereta crassae, Petrosimonieta brachiatae, Salicornieta europaea and their associations, species content of associations, their abundance, layers, project cover was studied.
Using a retinopathy induced animal model, the Glycine max Merr. (GME) extract was administered to animals, and changes in inflammatory substances were observed. Experimental groups were divided into 7 groups, and the volume of tear was measured using standardized Schirmer Tear Test Strips. The fluorescent area was measured to examine the level of damage to the retina, and after extracting the serum and eyeball of animals, inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, IL-1β, TNF-α) were analyzed. To observe the expression of inflammatory proteins, Nrf-2 in the ocular tissue and NF-kB in the lachrymal gland were analyzed. The tear volume of the vehicle group was 4.91±0.45mm, lower than that of the groups administered with the extract. The fluorescent area of those administered with the extract was statistically significantly lower than that of the vehicle group, and the results of inflammatory cytokine analysis also showed that the level of inflammatory cytokines in the vehicle group was higher that the level in the groups administered with the extract. In addition, the expression of Nrf-2 in the ocular tissue and NF-kB in the lachrymal gland statistically significantly decreased in those groups, compared to the retinopathy induced vehicle group. Considering all these results, it can be concluded that the GME extract regulated inflammatory cytokines caused by retinopathy.
Background: Fatigue is a common impairment affecting children, adolescents and young adults with cerebral palsy (CP). Individuals with hemiparetic cerebral palsy (HCP) develop easy fatigability over time resulting in lowering physical activity level and other musculoskeletal changes. Elliptical training is an easy to use aerobic tool that challenges the neuromuscular and cardiovascular systems results in improved strength, endurance and wellbeing. Methods: Twenty children, their mean age was 11.6±2.11 years with HCP were divided randomly and equally into study and control groups and received therapy in 12 successive weeks. The control group received mechanical muscle strengthening while the study group received same protocol in addition to elliptical training. Results: There was a significant improvement of normalized maximum voluntary torque (MVT) to body weight, peak torque (PT) of subsequent repetitions to MVT in both groups post treatment, moreover study group showed significant results in both measuring variables compared to control group post treatment. Rate of decline in repetitive PT was significant in the study group only. Conclusion: Aerobic devices as elliptical training improve fatigue rating among children with HCP. Significant results could be related to improvement of muscle strength, firing rate of upper and lower limbs musculatures at low intensity profile.
In researches was separately investigated fungicidal properties of White Naftalan oil and essential oils obtained from medical herbs belonging to the flora of Azerbaijan and fungicidal properties of their compositions with different ratio. As a result, were determined that compositions have more efficiency and were found its optimal ratio. It has been found that, the obtained composition has a broader range of fungicidal properties compared to other composition known in this area and were shown perspectivity to use from them in the future for the practical purposes.
